the Main Architectural and Planning Directorate (Glav APU) of the City of
Moscow.

Post-graduate of the Central Scientific-Research Institute of Theory and
History of Architecture.

Defense of PhD thesis for Candidate of Architecture Degree on the theme:
“Architectural and Spatial Organization of Multifunctional Complexes and
Structures”.
1972 - 1974
Acted as Junior, then as Senior Researcher of the Central
Scientific-Research Institute of the Theory and History of Architecture.
1974 - 1981
Senior Researcher, then Sector Manager of the B.S. Mesentsev Central
Scientific-Research Institute for the Experimental Design of Entertainment
Buildings and Sports Facilities.

A. Bokov is the author of more than a hundred city planning and
architectural projects; among the main realized projects are: an
experimental housing block in Nizhny Novgorod; the Pavilion No. 4 at the
All-Russian Exhibition Centre (VVTS) in Moscow; the V.V. Mayakovsky Museum
on Lubyanka Square; the A.S. Pushkin Museum in Prechistenka Street; office
buildings at Savinskaya Embankment, Gilyarovsky Street and Bolshoi
Gnezdnikovsky Lane.; the “Locomotive” football stadium, covered skating
centre in Krylatskoye, the “Megasport” Ice Palace; the planning concept and
apartment blocks in Khodynka; and the K.S.Stanislavsky and V.I.
Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Theatre.
A. Bokov’s two books and over 50 articles were published in national and
international magazines. Many of them were awarded Union of Architects’
prizes. A. Bokov conducted theoretical research on the problems of urban and
environmental planning and the development of social infrastructure of
Moscow. He was one of the ideologists of the “environmental approach in
architecture”. For many years he worked as a consultant and seminar leader
in the Senezh Design Studios, a professional and academic center for
environmental and urban design. He was an instructor in the Moscow
Architectural Institute (MArchI), in the MIIS (now the State University on
Land Development – GUZ) and in the V.I. Sourikov Moscow Artistic High School.
A. Bokov is a regular participant in Russian and international professional
competitions and has been a laureate over 40 times.
